The GDS explainer is so useful, since most travelers have no idea how many layers sit behind a single hotel booking. Rosewood Beyond going advisor-only is a fascinating move right when everyone else is chasing the click on TikTok and ShopMy.
Right?? So crazy seeing the affiliate links and OTA’s come for our business. I’m glad Rosewood sees the value of advisors. The channel is growing, but can we keep pace with OTAs? I think it will be like the robo-advisor shift we saw in the financial planning industry in the early 2000’s. Everyone said financial advisors would become extinct, but instead, they went upmarket and interacting with a human became a premium product people were willing to pay for.
I got some reminders from my Amex app that i can now book AirBnB with their credits, oh they also have a discount on experiences. Not sure I'd trust them to navigate what I count as a quality experience...
