This is a great read! Your point about Fora being a tech company that operates as a travel agency is my view as someone who uses the software and connections to enhance some of my pet travel and relocation consultancy's client experiences. Also, another reason I signed up for Fora to earn a little extra income for bookings I was already helping my friends and family with.

Hot take but based on my conversations & seeing discussions in Fora advisor groups, some people don't fully understand that Fora is more like a SaaS company than a host agency...

I think that’s very true - it operates more like a SaaS company than a host agency. I think they have an identity crises in that way. I’d love to see them partner with an established host agency like Coastline - give coastline their tech and give fora agents support from experienced advisors

So well said and on point. Totally agree! Very interested to see how this evolves, particularly with companies like Tern beginning to service the tech needs of many legacy agencies.

Thank you! Do you use Tern? Im curious which people prefer between Tern and Safari Portal. I feel like I just want one company to have a single solution platform that’s good for quotes RFPs, invoicing, CRM and payment processing, and no one is going all those well yet.

this was an incredibly interesting read, as I've been thinking about how this space works! It looks like Fora is a double-edged sword just in the same way that OTAs are, where they make themselves needed and then suddenly there's no way out lol. Interesting to see where it all goes.

I think they should reposition as a SaaS platform and not categorize agents under $100k as advisors but rather users. They need to rebrand and differentiate between those who are actual advisors doing meaningful booking volume and those using the platform for personal travel or a hobby
