Really - stealing towels? I don't know if I've ever been impressed with a hotel towel ;) I love a good historic hotel - the stories become part of the soul :) Having worked at The Breakers - I've slowly been making my way through Americas historic hotels....

What are your favorite domestic historic hotels?

Confession - I stole a hand towel in Mexico to keep my daughter’s wet swimsuit from soaking my other clothes 🙈

FAB explanation of the relevance of historic hotels. ‘Historic hotels carry an ADR roughly 12% higher than comparably luxurious contemporary properties, with occupancy running about 8 percentage points above average’—this part especially. I didn’t realise it was at 12%!

Isn’t that a wild statistic? It makes total sense from a moat standpoint. I always thought the cost of renovating to historic preservation standards would outweigh the higher ADR, but this makes way more sense
